Grey Squirrel

Grey squirrels were introduced into this country from the USA and they have thrived as their native counterparts, red squirrels, have declined.

They have grey fur and a long bushy tail and are renowned for their agility and ingenuity in stealing nuts from bird feeders.

They bury their surplus food in the ground and can often be seen digging in the lawn to retrieve it.

They have a lifespan of up to 9 years.
