Water Mint can usually be found in marshes, wet woodland
and ponds. This was found thriving in a boggy section of
our pond.
The individual lilac-coloured flowers are made up of 4
petals and are clustered around the top of the stem. The
leaves are oval, toothed and hairy.
When crushed this plant smells strongly of peppermint
and is used in peppermint tea to alleviate coughs and
colds. |
