Being nestled between two areas of woodland, there are plenty of trees in the garden - deciduous and evergreen. Most of the woodland consists of oak and ash with alder, hazel and elder sprinkled among them. There is a larch plantation on one side. I find it strange that these conifers lose their leaves in winter.
The garden is home to a selection of specimen trees such as beech, silver birch and london plane, as well as various ornamental firs.
The trees are a great source of food and shelter for both birds and animals. The squirrels are hyperactive in autumn, collecting acorns and hazelnuts. The ornamental firs are home to goldcrests and other small birds.
