Summer in the Garden

Summer is slightly disappointing. The deer and rabbits eat most of the pretty summer flowers associated with an English country garden - roses and most of the annuals. However, it is lovely to see the youngsters - fawns and baby birds learning from their parents.

This is the time when the insects appear. The pond is alive with dragonflies and damselflies. Butterflies and bees flutter from flower to flower. But the highlight of summer is the long, light evenings.
